What to Expect at the Open House
Walk the Forest Chapel
The Forest Chapel is an open-air ceremony space nestled beneath a cathedral of towering trees, framed by antique chapel windows and lush greenery — the kind of setting that silences a crowd the moment they walk in. In October, the canopy above the Forest Chapel does something that no floral installation could replicate. The hardwood forest in Northumberland County turns through amber, red, and gold in the first two weeks of October, and the light that falls through it onto the aisle below is the kind of thing that makes photographers put their cameras down for a moment. Walking the chapel at this time of year is genuinely the best way to understand what a wedding here feels like. The photographs are one thing. Standing in it is another.
Explore the Reception Pavilion & Grounds
After the ceremony, guests at a Whispering Springs wedding gather at the lodge-inspired Reception Pavilion and the Watering Hole Guest Lounge & Bar, where dinner, dancing, and toasts unfold against sweeping views of the ponds and meadows beyond. At the open house, you'll see the Reception Pavilion as a functional event space — the harvest tables, the live-edge head table, the licensed bar, the kitchen facilities. The team will walk you through how the space works for dinner and dancing, and answer questions about layout, capacity, and logistics.
The grounds tour covers everything: the spring-fed ponds, the forest trails, the accommodation, the spa area.. Two hundred acres of pristine wilderness unfold into old-growth forests, spring-fed ponds, open meadows, and charming pastures.
Meet Northumberland County's Top Wedding Vendors
The open house brings together some of Northumberland County's top wedding vendors — from florists and photographers to caterers and DJ's — all ready to help bring your vision to life. One of the most useful things the open house offers is the vendor connections in a single afternoon. Rather than scheduling multiple separate meetings across different offices and studios, you can meet your potential photographer, florist, caterer, and DJ in the same setting where they'll actually work — on the property, on a day that looks and feels like a wedding.
See the Accommodation
Guests at a Whispering Springs wedding rest their heads in one-of-a-kind glamping accommodations — log-framed safari tents, treetop tents, the Whisper Cabin, and The Chalet — before gathering around communal campfires long after the last song has played. The open house includes a tour of the accommodation types available for wedding guests. This is one of the questions couples ask most often: what will our guests actually stay in? The answer, at Whispering Springs, is genuinely varied — luxury safari tents with soaker tubs and handmade beds, Treetop Tents elevated above the forest floor, A-Frame Cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows and private hot tubs, the Whisper Cabin with its screened porch and full kitchen, and The Chalet for groups up to ten.
Seeing the accommodations in person is the moment most couples understand what makes Whispering Springs different. The photographs prepare you. The experience of standing in the space confirms it.
Meet the Team
Nina leads the wedding coordination at Whispering Springs and is consistently the person couples mention by name when they describe their planning experience. She'll be at the open house along with the broader team — available to answer questions about packages, dates, preferred vendors, logistics, and everything else that shapes the decision.

Why October 18th Is the Best Day to See This Venue
We're not being modest when we say that October is when Whispering Springs is at its most spectacular.
Northumberland County's peak foliage window falls in early to mid-October, and the property's 200 acres of old-growth hardwood are inside it. The Forest Chapel in peak colour is a genuinely different experience from the same space in summer — not better or worse, but more dramatic, more warm, more immediately legible as somewhere extraordinary.
October 18th sits in that window. You will see the Forest Chapel as it looks in autumn. You will see the ponds reflecting colour. You will understand, walking the property in that light, exactly what your guests would experience arriving for an October wedding.

Who Should Come
Couples who are just starting to plan. The open house gives you the full picture of what a Whispering Springs wedding looks like, without having to piece it together from website photos and emails. See it in person, ask every question, and leave with the information you need to decide.
Couples who are finalising their shortlist. If Whispering Springs is one of two or three venues you're seriously considering, the open house is the most efficient way to make the comparison. The forest, the chapel, the grounds, the accommodation, the team — it's all there in one afternoon.
Bridal parties and wedding planners. Bring your partner, your planner, your mum, your best friend — anyone whose opinion matters in the decision. The open house is designed to accommodate groups.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book a tour separately, or is the open house the right format for me? The open house is the best first step for most couples — it gives you a full picture of the property, the team, and the vendor community in a single afternoon. If you'd prefer a private tour at another time, contact jenna@whisperingsprings.ca to arrange one.
Can I bring my wedding planner or bridal party? Yes — please do. The open house is designed for groups, and having the people who will help you make the decision there in person makes the afternoon more useful.
Is the open house only for couples planning large weddings? Not at all. Whispering Springs offers full weekend weddings, petite wedding packages, elopements, and vow renewals. Whatever scale of celebration you're envisioning, the open house will help you understand how the property accommodates it.
What should I wear? The property is beautiful but it is a working forest retreat — comfortable shoes are recommended for the grounds tour, particularly if the October ground is damp.
Is there parking on site? Yes, parking is available at the property.
