What’s growing at Whispering Springs: We’re halfway there!

After weeks of rain, rain and more rain, the clouds have parted and the sun is once again shining at Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat. While the inclement weather has made it a little difficult to progress as quickly as we would like, everything is still on track (and many rainy day projects have been completed). We are now at the halfway point since we began construction a little over 2 months ago and we have just one tent left to erect for the season, The Watering Hole Guest Lounge & Bar. We are all becoming quite proficient at putting up a safari tent, to say the least!

We have begun brainstorming and planning for our first Yoga & Wellness Retreat from September 20th to 22nd, 2017. Hosted by Chris Corcoran and Adina Veselinovic, our Yoga & Wellness Retreats will focus on transitioning to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Chris, a certified Holistic Nutritionist and Blood Microscopist, will help individuals achieve their optimal health through a plant-based diet, health seminars and lifestyle coaching. Adina Veselinovic is Qualified Yoga and Dance Instructor, and will teach individuals the joy and benefits of incorporating yoga and meditation into their daily routines. Adina has previously worked at the Yoga Forest in Guatemala and retreat centers in British Columbia. Adina’s artistic skills are also being put to good use, and she is busy creating rustic furniture & trail signs, and a beautiful watercolour map of the property.

After all the rain we received this spring, the wildflowers are in full bloom and the verdure and lushness of the forest is indescribable. The front entrance to Whispering Springs is now complete, and perfectly frames our stunning view of the Northumberland hills and Lake Ontario. We are currently busy planning and designing the pool and hot tub area, as well as the communal campfire. We have some unique ideas for water features around the pavilion, pool and hot tub and are excited to reveal the finished product to our guests.

Preparations have begun for our Grand Opening on Saturday, August 26th. The Sophiasburgh All Star Band from Quinte will be providing live music and tent and trail tours will be available for visitors. If you are interested in attending our Grand Opening please contact us at info@whisperingsprings.ca. We are also extremely happy to report that we are fully booked for Labour Day Weekend! We would like to thank all of our family and friends who are helping to spread the word about Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat.
